Uniway has just finalized the new intranet for Fluxys, a company that has already embraced the intranet in its corporate culture. The intranet is a powerful synergy between SharePoint Portal Server (Microsoft's collaborative tool for portal management) and Ektron (web content management tool).

The Fluxys intranet consists of large amounts of documents and topics contained in mini websites. This is one of the reasons why Uniway proposed a Sharepoint-Ektron integration for this project. The content management in the bilingual portal environment is decentralized, allowing the Fluxys employees to manage themselves the content of the sections for which they are responsible. The intranet portal is the result of a successful collaboration between Uniway and the IT and communication departments of Fluxys. Representative users from various departments were also implicated to define an intuitive content structure. The portal was enriched with the integration of existing applications and specific developments  (webparts) to extend to standard functions of Sharepoint.
